San Gregorio Beach

I finally got out shooting again this weekend, with my brother (a much better alternative to shopping on black friday). Here are some shots I got at the beach and some of my bro playing with his new camera. Hope you enjoy.

Chocolates

SO yeah, it's been a while since I've posted anything, or gotten out to shoot with my D40.
But I did just get an iphone, and have been playing a bit with the camera shooting things here and there, and I'm thinking maybe I'll start uploading some iphone pics in between SLR shoots.

This one was taken at IKEA last night, in the little snack section after checkout.
I liked the repetition in the neatly stacked boxes of chocolates.

I also ran a filter or two over it in the limited iphone photoshop app.

I think all in all, it made for some pretty nice results.

My how "phones" have evolved...

Gone Hiking

I decided to spend a portion of the Memorial Day holiday hiking through the gigantic Redwoods in Muir Woods National Monument.

I only came out with a handful of shots that I was remotely happy with, and even so, I'm not super proud of them.

I had a hard time with the exposures, and felt that most of my pictures came out either way overexposed, or way underexposed.  Most of these here have been manipulated pretty well in Photoshop.

Anyway, all that to say I really need to force myself to practice more, and get comfortable shooting in any lighting condition.
